The challenge for the writers and producers of “The Mentalist” going into the season 6 finale this year was rather simple: Finding a way to make it function as the end of 22 episodes, but also the potential end of the entire series. Nobody knows yet what the series’ fate will be except for maybe some CBS executives, but even they may be waiting to see all the pilots before making a decision.
Luckily, those involved with the show are experienced enough in production to know that when a show is in jeopardy of being canceled, they need to find a good way to wrap things up. This is why you may find creator Bruno Heller’s comments to TV Guide to be good news, since they suggest that there will be some sort of ending for the show:
“If it is a [series] finale, I think the fans will think of it as a very satisfying finale … We’re very happy with where we’ve taken them. But on the other hand, it opens up a whole new world of possibilities and potential.”
“Romantic” is a word that has been tossed around as of late when discussing the episode, and that may be music to Jane / Lisbon fans’ ears. There’s no confirmation out there that the two get together in the finale, but every bit of information suggests that Jane will be finally motivated enough to make a move once he realizes that Agent Pike wants to her to move away with him, and his back is up against the wall. It’s either that he finally stops playing games, or he loses her (most likely for good).
Also, applause to Heller and company for seemingly leaving some sort of thread open regardless of what happens with Jane and Lisbon, if for no other reason than that it could give fans extra incentive to rally for a season 7.

Si, Es un papelón para los guionistas adaptarse a eso.
Supongo que habrán grabado de más y en función de lo que vaya a pasar lo montan de una forma o de otra. Lo que veo claro es que si hay T.7 tienen que acabar con un giro espectacular cuando ya parezca que todo esta cerrado. Tipo: por fín Jisbon felices y a salvo para siempre y... Los últimos segundos un plano de Stiles, o algo que inculpe a Lisbon... Unos segundos que (si al final los añaden) cuando parezca que todo esta cerrado y estable lo cambie todo.
Ojalá no haya T.7 y lo hayan tenido clarísimo a la hora de grabarlo o tengan un capítulo perfectamente adaptado al final de la serie.

Creator Bruno Heller tells me the show’s upcoming season finale is being written to potentially serve as a series closer as well as work as a set-up for a seventh season. “It will be a very pleasing and satisfying series finale if that’s what happens and if not its a very pleasing and satisfying precursor to a new season,” he says.

No sé si ya lo habéis puesto, pero Chris Long ha dicho que el final cierra cosas pero abre otras. O sea que es un final semi-cerrado. Yo espero que sea por el tema Asociación Blake.

La portada de Red John parece de Silent Hill. Después de ver el capítulo creo que la tendrían que haber hecho más como la casa de la pradera, porque vamos...

Yo personalmente piensoque Pike es algún tipo de acólito de RJ que no estaba en la lista de los tigretones y que quiere vengarse de Jane arrebatándole lo que más quiere (Teresa) así como él se llevó a su amado líder, jajajja. Quizás esté un poco trillado lo del amante espía, algo que ya vimos con Van Pelt y O'Loughlin pero no me acabo de fíar de Pike.
Dudo mucho que el tema sobre RJ o algún muerto en plan Stiles o algún otro de un gran vuelco argumental. Tiene pinta de que lo que hicieron en el 6x08 es lo que querían hacer con RJ y demás por muy decepcionante que fuese.
