Otra entrevista de Ian!
TVLINE | The sire-bond storyline has been hotly contested in TVLine’s comments section. What did you think of the twist and how it affects Elena and Damon’s relationship?
Well, I thought, “Hey, cool! He can do whatever he wants.” Three years of trying to get the same girl, who looks like your ex who you thought was in love with you for 150 years, has to do whatever you say. Could be worse. Actually, no, I thought, “Poor guy”… Here’s the thing: At the end of the day, Damon does not want to take this cure, nor would he in a million years want Elena to take it. He’s thinking, “Why would I want to do this? Why would I want to become a normal, boring human being susceptible to everything?” It’s just not in his wheelhouse to have that thought… It really is a tragic [thing]. You want this character — even though he does really awful things — you want him to win. You want him to be happy in life… There’s something big in the cards for Damon soon.
TVLINE | You say he doesn’t want Elena to be cured, so why is he going out of his way to find this cure for her? Is it purely about him knowing whether she truly loves him?
No, it’s not that self-serving. That would be [like] Damon. But I think ultimately, it’s that it’s what she wants. It’s really what she wants.
TVLINE | Elena made a pretty big confession of love recently, and Damon told her to come to him. But then they got distracted by the hunter/cure business. Will they address that conversation soon?
That’s the idea. One would hope. She did come to him, and it was a really cool moment for him. There’s got to be conflict there [between them]. There has to be. Now, this cure is really not something Damon wants, and so he’s forced to do all this stuff for her. It adds tension because she’s saying, “Look, I love you, man. You have to believe me. I really do.” And he’s just saying, “No, no, no. It’s not possible.” It’s tough for her, and it’s tough for him. It’s Vampire Diaries, it sucks for everyone. It’s hard.
TVLINE | An an actor, was there any frustration about your character finally getting the girl and then there’s this asterisk that it might just be because of the sire bond?
I just thought, “Ooh, Salvatore, you poor bastard.” Leave it to life. It’s Murphy’s Law. That’s the way it goes.
TVLINE | So what’s the next step for Damon and Elena in their relationship?
To move to an island in the Caribbean that Damon buys and start a colony. In all seriousness, it’s kind of like instead of a whodunnit storyline, it’s a who’s-gonna-get-it? Honestly, I think that Damon right now is wishing he wasn’t in this situation, and [he] has an exorbitant amount of trepidation about getting this [cure] because he has a pretty clear idea that once she gets it, she’s going to go back to feeling this way for Stefan. This circumstance is really not great.
TVLINE | Stefan and Damon’s relationship has also been through quite the ringer as a result of the Elena story. Stefan’s gotten kind of spunky recently. What’s their interaction like coming up?
Stefan spunky? I like that!
TVLINE | He’s got a bit of an edge.
We like edgy Stefan. Stefan likes edgy Stefan. Stefan, just like his brother, has a lot to go through in the near future. He’s got a lot riding on this cure. Stefan wants it. This is a chance for him… Stefan’s hoping that they can find it and make it work and ultimately she’ll go back to feeling this way for him. And Damon’s thinking, “Ooh, this sucks!” Really not happy about it.
TVLINE | On the way to this cure, Damon has a bloody run-in with a hunter.
I like that storyline. It’s a lot of fun. The character’s great. Charlie [Bewley], the actor who plays Vaughn, is awesome. He brings a lot to the role. He and David Alpay, who plays Professor Shane, they’re both really talented and they’re a lot of fun to work with. [Damon and Shane], while they’re wanting to kill each other, they really work well together.
TVLINE | Damon’s been really suspicious of Shane. What are the odds that we’re headed to a big “I told you so” from Damon?
[Joking] There’s a scene where Damon and Shane kind of cuddle. Look, this Shane guy has a lot of shit going on, excuse my language. He’s got a lot of stuff he’s hiding. He’s a master manipulator, and that’s really why I like him. He and Damon, they’re not too far off. Again, he has ill-intentions, but they’re for righteous reasons. That’s what Damon had for really the first two seasons of the show. So I have to respect him for that. But I will say that Damon is praying that he’s wrong about this guy, that he’s not as bad as he thinks he is. There’s good stuff there between them.

A mi la entrevista de Ian me da mala yuyu, no se. Se empeña demasiado en reafirmar que él/Damon no quiere la cura para Elena.. pero es que, acaso nadie oyó a Damon en el episodio pasado cuando le decía a la Elen que le iba a conseguir a cura?... Bueno, pues ahora os ha querido voltear todo, leches, y asi no se puede! ¬¬ Pero claro, no seria la primera vez que Ian intenta despistar con una entrevista...

En realidad Ian lo que dice en la entrevista es que Damon no quiere tomar la cura y no quiere que Elena la tome! Porque le gusta ser un vampiro y está convencido de que si Elena vuelve a ser humana volverá a los brazos de Stefan...
Pero dice que aún así Damon va a hacer lo posible por conseguir esa cura, porque es lo que Elena quiere!! Él haría lo que fuera necesario para que Elena sea feliz... incluso renunciar a su propia felicidad
Y como bien plantea... esa es la diferencia con Stefan! Porque Stefan quiere la cura porque cree que así volverá a estar con Elena!! Stefan no quiere esa cura porque crea que es lo que Elena necesita para ser feliz!! La quiere para serlo él!
La cuestión... ¿Tanto quiere Elena esa cura? ¿Y qué precio está dispuesta a pagar por ella?

Ire yo creo que Elena ha sido clara con respecto a la cura, si la obtención de ella pone en peligro a la gente que quiere, ella pasaba del tema, creo que aunque no le haga precisamente feliz ser un vampiro ha conseguido vivir con ello, y a ella el tema del sire-bond no la preocupa, está convencida de amar a Damon con o sin vínculo.
Gracias por la foto de Vaughn, queda claro quien es el que vá a cazar a Damon y opino como tú, sale más guapo que en Crepusculo jajaja.

Se me está ocurriendo despues de leer la sipnosis del 4x15 y lo que dice sobre la salud mental de Elena, si no se cargará por segunda vez a un cazador? Elena y por eso Damon se quede en la isla a buscar la cura porque irremediablemente Elena necesite tomarla.

Madre mía! La información se nos acumula!!! Y lo peor es que me deja más liada aún xD
Entre las entrevistas a Ian y las sinopsis ando de lo más perdida ahora mismo, pero intrigadísima y con muchísimas ganas de ver lo que nos espera. Estos capis prometen.
Ire muy bien visto lo de la escena Delena del 4x15, sigo pensando que toda la ausencia de información Delena en sinopsis y demás es porque aún nos queda lago que ver y no quieren dar pistas. De hecho Ian en las entrevistas cuando le preguntan si queda algo bueno por venir y cualquier cosa Delena, al final no responde. Lo único que responde en relación al Delena es sobre tomar o no tomar la cura.

Ian Somerhalder will be the first person to admit that the race for the cure isn’t exactly going well for Damon on The Vampire Diaries. “It’s getting to a point now where only living for Elena’s well-being and getting this cure is starting to take a serious toll, and it’s starting to become not the healthiest thing in the world,” he says. “But he’s gonna do it anyway.”
In this week’s episode (Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on The CW), Damon’s still being held captive in the Salvatore family cellar because Kol compelled him to try to kill Jeremy. Stefan asks Klaus to babysit Damon, which results in Klaus promptly letting slip that Stefan slept with Rebekah. Damon will, of course, get out of the cellar at some point, because we’ve already seen shots from the Feb. 7 episode, “Into the Wild,” of him joining the Professor Shane-led expedition to an island off the coast of Nova Scotia in search of the cure. “You have Elena, Damon, Stefan, and Rebekah all sitting around a campfire looking at each other. What an odd moment. Everyone has basically slept with each other,” he says, laughing. “Pretty funny.” But as so often happens on this show, things do take a serious turn. Photos from the Feb. 14 episode, “Down the Rabbit Hole” (pictured), reveal that Damon suffers more than awkward moments on that island: He runs into a skilled Hunter named Vaughn (guest star Charlie Bewley), one of The Five, who banters with him but also beats him. We’re used to seeing Damon tied up and tortured, but usually with his shirt open. What gives? “I think A.) it’s really cold in Georgia, so we opted against that,” Somerhalder says, laughing again. “But I just thought, ‘You know man, I would love to get my ass kicked once but have clothes on.’ And it wasn’t like it was Rebekah, or Katherine, or some awesome lady [doing it], it’s a guy in the woods.”
The knocks will keep coming off-screen as well for Somerhalder, who’s set to take part in DirecTV’s 7th annual flag-football Celebrity Beach Bowl this Saturday (along with Nina Dobrev). “I think what I’m gonna do is just eat a lot, because a guy like Deion Sanders or someone hits you, you better have some cushion,” he says of his preparation. Las entrevistas estas últimas a Ian dejan entrever muchas cosas interesantes... Pero yo especialmente me quedo con eso que dice que:
