Evanescence is a band from America. They play a type of music called gothic metal, alternative metal or grunge.
Gothic metal is a subgenre of metal, in some cases the music is combined with the violence of heavy metal with the dark melancholy and aesthetics of gothic rock. The genre originated in the early 1990s in Europe as an incarnation of death / doom, a fusion of death metal and doom metal. This technique most famous song is the beauty and the beast
The group was founded in 1998 by vocalist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody in Little Rock, Arkansas. Their first studio album was Fallen. They sold over 15 million copies around the world and the band won two Grammy awards.
Their Discography. Their first album, as I said before was Fallen. In 2006 they produce a new cd called The Open Door. This year, 2009 they will produced a new cd, but the name wasn’t confirmed. They have a lot of songs but one of my favourite is my immortal and Broken, the last, Amy Lee sings with Seether, another singer.
And now I’m going to explain a little biography of Amy Lee, the vocalist of the group. She was born in 1981 at riverside. And she is pianist, singer and guitarist. She was the founder of the group, evanescence.
